Still Life
I’ve always kept my eye out for knick-knacks. I especially love decorative perfume bottles, unusual vases or bowls, baskets, ceramics, patterned scarves. I arrange them on side tables, in display cabinets, and as centerpieces in my home. Each piece create a haven of memories reminding me of the places dear to heart - Lake Champlain in Vermont, Sta Barbara missions, Spanish monasteries, Beijing palaces, gardens in Suzhou, Taiwan museums, Getty museum, ancient churches in the Holy Land and France. I have a lifetime of souvenirs and memories. I paint these miniature landscapes of memories—my still lives on my dining room table.
